It’s also home to some of the best golf courses in the islands, and a marine park where you can swim with dolphins or play with manatees.
Come see why Corolla has been named to numerous "best beaches" lists. It's really no surprise, considering the Outer Banks coastline boasts 120 miles of sand, sea and serenity. The appeal of these windswept sands, refreshing sea breezes and vast blue skies has drawn visitors to the Outer Banks and transformed Corolla from a simple seaside fishing village to an upscale vacation destination. Activities on Corolla's North Carolina beaches go beyond sunbathing and splashing in the surf. The beaches in Corolla are pet-friendly year round, and off-road vehicles are welcome on 4WD-accessible shorelines north of town. Then, there are the famous wild horses of Corolla, which can be spotted on an excursion with a local Corolla Wild Horse Tour.

Pristine Hatteras Island Beaches & Seashores Seventy-two miles of wide, unspoiled and uncluttered ocean beaches beckon you to Hatteras Island. Our crystal white sand and warm blue water are among the best in the world. You can visit a life guarded beach or even at the peak of the season, search out and find your own isolated spot in the sandy dunes. Hatteras Island beaches are within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, the nation's first recreational seashore park. Created by Congress in 1935, the park has evolved into the premiere destination for nearly every recreational pursuit under the sun. Blessed by the proximity to the Gulf Stream, a great warm water oceanic current rising from the Yucatan Channel and flowing north where it touches the American mainland at Cape Hatteras, the island enjoys the most temperate year 'round climate north of Florida. Our water temperatures can be as much as 10 degrees higher that those areas immediately to the north such as Nags Head and Duck. Dunes caressed in golden sea oats and the dogleg shape of Hatteras Island provides a sheltered and safe beach from any wind direction except southeast to due east. All of Hatteras Realty's Outer Banks oceanfront homes border the National Park Service beach line and the ocean is only a short walk away. From the topside decks of most of our oceanfront homes, you should be able to see the ocean and the beach clearly. Come to Hatteras Island and enjoy our wonderful beach. From swimming to shell collecting, sun bathing to surf fishing, and from bird watching to relaxing and windsurfing to world-class seafood dining, Hatteras Island invites you to experience your best vacation ever. Maybe it's April (snow) showers, or the fact that summer's still months away, but we need a beach vacation, and we need it now. We've put together a list of 9 stateside beach vacations—complete with activity ideas, restaurant recommendations, and hotel options—to guide your next sandy retreat.
There are lots of beach resort towns in Mexico, but one of the most budget friendly ones is Manzanillo. This is a port city that has a couple five-mile bays with beaches. Here you’ll find some great seafood restaurants and a laid-back atmosphere. Plan to rent an apartment or small home with an ocean view if you’re traveling with a few people and planning to stay for a while. Smaller budget-friendly hotels can also be found in Manzanillo, and many of them are conveniently located downtown and near the bus station.

Everyone in central Florida who wants to have an epic beach day makes their way here on the weekend. What results is one of the best beach parties in America, a sand-borne tailgate party where instead of playing football, people play in the ocean. If you find yourself on a landlocked Florida vacation to theme parks or otherwise, spending a day here is affordable and a whole lot of fun.

Pickleball proves that active sports and competition don’t have to end when you get older: this mix of badminton, tennis, and ping-pong has exploded in popularity in recent years, and seniors comprise the majority of competitors. The well-regarded tennis center at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, has eight pickleball courts as well as five POP Tennis courts (the latter appeal to young and beginner players, since it uses a bigger ball eliminates the challenging overhead serve); pickleball packages include instruction, villa stays, bike rentals, and daily court time. The resort also has a trio of 18-hole golf courses, kayaking on an 11-mile inland lagoon, surfing, and other water sports.

There are about 221,208 miles of coastline on the planet, and where ever there’s a shore, there’s the potential for a beach getaway. While you may not be packing up your bikini for a trip to Antarctica’s Southern Ocean anytime soon, there’s a whole world’s worth of tremendous beaches out there to explore. Swim through a tunnel to the hidden beach in Mexico’s Marieta Islands, or take a boat to Thailand’s Maya Bay beach (made famous by the 2000 Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach). Venture out to Australia’s Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world, to admire the colors of Rainbow Beach, an effect caused by the mineral-rich sand. Take a picture in front of the iconic granite boulders surrounding Anse Source d’Argent beach in the African archipelago of Seychelles, deep in the Indian Ocean. Or try a city-side beach in one of Barcelona’s hippest quarters, Barceloneta, whose fame stretches back centuries—it was even mentioned in Don Quixote. Who says beach culture and high culture can’t mix?
The small country of Belize is one of the most affordable destinations in Central America, and it has some beautiful beaches just waiting to be explored. Ambergris Caye is the largest island that’s part of Belize and a favorite destination among divers. One of the largest coral reef systems is located near the island, which is a huge selling point for divers and snorkelers. The vibe here is very relaxing and laid back in the town of San Pedro, and there are many budget-friendly hotels and restaurants here to indulge a bit without going broke.
Hobe Sound may not be an obvious choice for best beach vacations in America, but it’s truly an unspoiled paradise—just what you want when you need to escape the daily grind. Don’t miss Blowing Rocks Preserve, where at high tide you might get to see sea water spraying up through holes in the limestone that’s embedded in the sands here. Running right alongside Hobe Sound is the long, narrow stretch of Jupiter Island, where you can bike your way along the beach or join a tour and watch baby turtles hatching.
